INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
Sew Hope – an organization dedicated to improving all aspects of health (physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual) of individuals and families in Guatemala.
Vietnam Classroom Library Project – In cooperation with Rotary International, the Maumee Rotary Service Foundation provided the funding for an entire school’s classroom libraries with books for grades 3 and 4.
Ukraine Disaster Relief Aid – With matching grants and donations from Maumee Rotarians, Maumee Rotary Service Foundation donated more than $25,000 to victims of the war in Ukraine.
Local and Regional Projects
Compassion Health Toledo – an organization on the near south side of Toledo that provides primarily family medicine, women’s health care, prenatal care, pediatric care, and cardiology services to nearby residents regardless of their ability to pay. The Maumee Rotary Service Foundation, at one of our annual auctions, purchased an Ultrasound machine for the Clinic’s use. In addition, Maumee Rotarians donated diapers and baby wipes at the start of the Pandemic in 2020.
Mosaic Ministries – this group provides meals, food distribution, education, and counseling as well as a Baby University. Baby University provides parenting classes, diapers and baby supplies, clothing assistance other services to nearby families. Maumee Rotary Service Foundation provided funds to help update and rehab a local building used for after-school and family classes and events.
Habitat for Humanity – Maumee Rotarians helped to rehab a home in south Toledo.
Buffalo Soldiers Angel Tree Christmas Gifts – local served by YMCA’s in NW Ohio received three gifts each from Maumee Rotarians and the Maumee Rotary Service Foundation.
My Very Own Blanket – On three separate occasions, Maumee Rotarians created fleece blankets for youth in the foster care system in Lucas, Wood and Fulton Counties.
St. Luke’s Hospital Frontline Workers – Maumee Rotary Service Foundation provided lunch for all three shifts at St. Luke’s Hospital in May 2020.
STRIVE Program – At Maumee High School, Maumee Rotarians support and mentor seniors who are in the group – Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education. At the end of each year, over $10,000 is awarded in scholarships to students for their secondary education.
Maumee High School Students of the Month and Scholarship Program – Maumee Rotary Service Foundation awards an additional $10,000 to $15,000 per year in annual and renewable scholarships to deserving high school students.
Flu Shot Clinic and Red Cross Give Blood Clinics – Maumee Rotarians provide support and logistics services for medical groups and the Red Cross to deliver flu vaccines and blood donations.
Metroparks Projects – Peace Garden, Rotary Pavilion and Sapling Tree Planting and Covering at Fallen Timbers Battlefield. Maumee Rotary Services Foundation in partnership with Metroparks Toledo funded a three-phase project to make improvements to historic Locks 3 and 4 at Side Cut Metropark in Maumee. The first phase is a Peace Garden at the base of Lock 4.
Under One Roof Food Pantry and Emergency Fund – In partnership with matching grants from Rotary District 6600, the Rotary Club of Maumee has donated money for purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and toiletries. The food pantry is a collaborative effort involving eight Maumee area churches, community agencies, local merchants, schools, other non-profit organizations, and private donors. The pantry storefront is located on the grounds of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Maumee.
